You can say “YES!”

About us

The mission of Foster the Family is to fill a gap and remove a roadblock of saying no to a foster child needing a home and family. We will love, encourage and build up foster and birth families in our community through support and providing for physical and tangible needs.

Our vision is that foster and birth families have a Christian community who supports them as they reunite families and care for God’s children by supplying material items and necessities for families, sustaining ongoing services for foster and adoptive families and equipping people to engage in caring for children and families in need.

What families say
When we took our first ever foster placement, the last thing we wanted to think about was finding a crib and a car seat. We unfortunately had to spend more time finding a crib than we did talking and praying with our family about the situation. The next morning I had to wake up early and run to Wal-Mart to purchase a car seat before making it to work. Foster the Family can alleviate the stress of having to find or purchase critical items, and foster families will have so much stress taken off of them in those first 24 hrs that are some of the most difficult/stressful.
Langdon Devine
Our first call as foster parents was for a newborn baby. At the time, we were better set up for preschool and elementary aged kids. We had less than 24 hours to get everything we needed to bring the little guy home. We ended up at Target buying over $500 worth of baby supplies that night. These Target runs were almost daily for the next couple of weeks while we tried to figure out a newborn baby. Fortunately, we had the finances available to do this, but what if we hadn’t?

This is the gap Foster the Family fills. By maintaining a library of big ticket items, we aim to provide a way for foster families to get what they need without having to spend a dime. This opens up the doors to say yes to more calls. We also aim to provide a Cozy Case full of supplies to help get through the first couple of days to children in new foster placements.
